Geometric Pattern Coloring Pages

Triangles, hexagons, stars and stacked cubes fill these 26 sheets. Some are just rows of big shapes that a young child can finish in one sitting. Others turn shapes into pictures, like a fox head, a deer with antlers and a whole city made of squares. The busiest geometric pattern coloring pages sit at the end of the set. That includes a ball made of tiny triangles. Our mandala coloring pages have round designs to try next.

Four Pattern Squares

The page is split into four squares. They hold triangles, circles, small squares and stripes.

Stars and Diamonds

Rows of stars fill the page. A little diamond sits in each gap between them.

Squares in Squares

Big squares line up in rows. Each one has a smaller square drawn inside it.

Circles in Squares

Every square in the grid holds a circle. A tiny square sits in the middle of each circle.

Triangle Rows

Big triangles stand in rows across the page. One points up and the next points down.

Diamonds and Circles

Long diamonds fit together in rows. Each diamond has a small circle in its middle.

Zigzag Stripes

Wide zigzag stripes run across the page from top to bottom.

Rows of Arches

Round arches stack in rows like little waves. Each arch has a second line inside it.

Stacked Cubes

The lines on this page make a pile of cubes. Color each side of a cube differently to see them stand out.

Fox Head Made of Shapes

A fox head is built from triangles and other flat shapes. It has tall pointed ears and a long nose.

Wolf Head Made of Shapes

A wolf looks straight ahead with sharp pointed ears. Its face is split into many flat shapes.

Deer Head With Antlers

A deer head is made of triangles. Two big antlers branch out above its ears.

Elephant Made of Shapes

An elephant stands side on with its trunk curled up. Its body is split into flat shapes.

Cut Gems

One big gem sits in the middle with six smaller gems around it. Diamond shapes fill the space behind.

Triangle Quilt

Squares are cut into triangles like the pieces of a quilt. The pattern covers the whole page.

Four Petal Tiles

Tiles with four round petals repeat across the page. Small diamonds join the tiles together.

Mountains Made of Triangles

Pointed mountains and pine trees are built from triangles. A spiky sun shines above them.

City Made of Shapes

Tall buildings with square windows and pointed roofs fill the city. A sun and shape clouds sit above.

Broken Glass Pattern

Straight lines cut the page into big uneven pieces. It looks like a broken window.

Scale Pattern

Round scales overlap in rows like tiles on a roof. Each scale has a smaller one inside.

Hummingbird Made of Triangles

A hummingbird drinks from a flower. The bird, the flower and the sky are all made of triangles.

Fan Pattern

Rows of open fans cover the page. Thin lines spread out inside each fan like rays.

Hexagon Flowers

Six sided shapes group together to make flowers. Little triangles sit in the gaps.

Ball Made of Triangles

A big ball made of small triangles sits in the middle. More triangles swirl all around it.

Lion Head Made of Shapes

A lion looks straight ahead. Its face and big mane are made of sharp pointed shapes.

Pattern Sampler

Wavy lines split the page into parts. Each part has its own pattern, like circles, stars or zigzags.

What Is a Geometric Pattern?

Geometric patterns are made of shapes like lines, circles, squares and triangles. Each shape comes back again and again. They are all around you. Bees build their honeycomb out of six sided shapes. Floor tiles, quilts and brick walls are patterns too.

Four Ways to Color Geometric Shapes

  • Pick just two colors and swap them from one shape to the next.
  • On the cube page, color every top light, every left side medium and every right side dark. The cubes will look like real blocks.
  • Go in rainbow order down the rows of triangles or zigzags.
  • On the animal heads, use a light and a dark shade of one color so the face looks 3D.

Frequently asked questions

What should a four year old start with?

The four pattern squares, the stars and diamonds and the squares in squares come first. Those three have the biggest shapes on the page.

Do I need a ruler to color these?

No ruler needed. Crayons and colored pencils both work. Thick lines help small hands keep the color in each shape.

My printed lines look gray. What went wrong?

Your printer may be on draft mode to save ink. Pick the high quality setting instead. Step by step help is in the printing guide.
